Mivelogna - Environmental Protection (March 2022-June 2022)

The MIVELOGNA project run by NGO JADE within the "Environmental Protection" component aimed to support young people, unemployed individuals and stay-at-home mothers in Tamatave and the surrounding area in creating and sustaining income-generating activities. The NGO also sought to promote positive change in the city's labor sector over the long term and to strengthen its presence as a player in business creation support.

During March 2022, 25 participants received initial training at NGO JADE's headquarters. This training was followed by a financial education module led by a client advisor from Accès Banque Toamasina. The other 24 participants received training in vegetable farming from a Swiss-Polish agricultural technician.

In total, 49 program beneficiaries were able to benefit from the assistance offered by this program. Among them, 12 received support for vegetable farming, 13 received Pekin duckling breed and the feed needed to raise them until the planned sale of the ducks, and 12 received support for raising chickens, or akoho gasy.

The project therefore enabled a large number of people to launch income-generating activities, while strengthening everyone's capacities and skills. It also helped promote environmentally friendly farming practices and strengthen NGO JADE's presence as a key player in local economic development.
