Viavy Smart 2018

The first edition of Viavy Smart, organized by the NGO JADE, took place from August 6 to 10, 2018 at the CRJS in Toamasina. The main objective of this event was to encourage women to take an interest in IT and help them better understand information and communication technologies. The training focused on digital communication, which is currently booming, and aimed to teach women how to use digital tools, particularly social networks, in a more educational and professional way. The training, led by Ms. Samantha Tiasoa RATSIRAHONANA, founding journalist of Book News Madagascar, also included basic office computing skills and an introduction to Photoshop. Thirteen (13) young women from various associations and organizations were certified at the end of the training.

The Viavy Smart 2018 training met a real need to encourage women to take an interest in new technologies. The practical sessions were held in various internet-equipped rooms, including a cybercafé in the city. The certificate ceremony was held at the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Population, Social Protection and Women's Promotion of Atsinanana, in the presence of the Regional Director and the President of the NGO JADE. This first edition of Viavy Smart was a success and promises a bright future for the initiative.
