Celebration of Geek Day - 2022

World Geek Day was celebrated on May 25, 2022 at NGO Jade's headquarters in the Adventist neighborhood. The goal was to stimulate young people's interest in new technologies, particularly via Android applications, as well as to share experience and knowledge in the field through a half-day of panel discussions. The organizers also sought to inform young people about the importance of computing in today's society.

The day's program included talks on schools that teach computer science in Madagascar, the importance of computing, IT careers, and testimonials from other IT professionals. The speakers, RAKOTO SEDSON Miandrisoa Odon, IT professional and advisor to NGO JADE, and MIRATINA Quincy, IT professional and Secretary General of NGO JADE, gave two talks on various IT topics.

Around 35 people took part during the half-day of panel discussions, of whom 3 were organizers and/or speakers and 32 were students from various institutions. This celebration of World Geek Day thus helped raise young people's awareness of the importance of computing in today's world and stimulate their interest in new technologies.

In short, World Geek Day was an opportunity for NGO Jade to share its expertise in information and communication technologies. This initiative also helped strengthen young people's place in society and encourage them to develop their technology skills, in order to better understand the challenges of our time. By celebrating this day, NGO Jade contributed to promoting computing and expanding its scope of application.
