Open Days 2018

An ICT Day and promotion of free software took place from November 19 to 25, 2018 at the Alliance française de Tamatave. The event was divided into two phases: the SYS Bootcamp and the Conference-Discussions. The SYS Bootcamp was an introductory GNU/Linux training led by professional trainer RASOLOFONIRINA Eric. The training, held from November 19 to 23, was attended by 17 learners and focused on hands-on exercises. The Conference-Discussions took place on November 24 and 25 and featured eight different speakers, who presented specific open-source topics.

During the OPEN DAYS 2018 project, 18 people took part in the SysBoot Camp 2018 training, and about 90 people attended the conference talks and discussions over the two days of the event. In total, 16 presentations were given on various open-source topics or presenting a technology/robotics company based in Madagascar. The training's learners received their certificates of participation, and the event ended with a cocktail reception attended by all participants, trainers, and some Alliance française officials and our partners' representatives.
