Open Days 2017

The NGO JADE organized the "Open Days" event in collaboration with the Alliance française de Tamatave from November 20 to December 3, 2017. The project's main objectives were to train up to 20 learners in Android mobile application development and to share experiences and knowledge during two days of conference-debates. The secondary objectives were to allow local young IT professionals to network and to improve the NGO's image in the city and its surroundings.

The event took place in two phases: the first was the training on Android application development Dev bootcamp, from November 20 to December 1, lasting 80 hours, and was given by RAKOTOMAMPIONONA Andy Larry, the research and development manager at AGIR.

The two days of conference-debates, from December 2 to 3, welcomed seven speakers from different entities, students and professionals, and about 45 participants, the sessions were moderated by RAKOTONIRINA Ioniarimalala, the dean of the NGO JADE. Certificates of participation were given to the learners of the Dev bootcamp 2017, followed by a closing cocktail in the presence of all participants and partners. The results obtained included 12 people trained and 9 talks on various open source topics.

For the OPEN DAYS 2017 edition, the NGO JADE called on entities of various sizes and backgrounds to carry out its projects, including the Alliance française de Tamatave, and received support from Agir, Smartprint, Net Pic, Tsena Express and Orange Tamatave as well as JHOAN L.H. for organizing the event. Each of these entities contributed to the event with a theme related to open source or with financial, material or personal support. Thanks to the diversity of the program and a participatory approach, the event was a great success.
